The Golden Reel 2024 Grand Final is just days away, promising an exciting conclusion to this year’s competition. This year marks the eighth Golden Reel Grand Final. The Golden Reel 2024 final features some of the biggest names in UK match fishing, who will compete for the title.

Qualification began on 6th April at Partridge Lakes in Warrington and concluded with yesterday’s semi-final at Larford Lakes. A total of 24 qualifiers took place in this year’s competition. Only the winner from each qualifier earns a chance to claim this year’s Golden Reel title. The runners-up and third-placed anglers from each qualifier secured spots in the semi-final. The semi-final took place on the Speci and Match Lakes at Larford, with the winner from each lake joining the 24 qualifying anglers in the final.

26 anglers have qualified for this year’s Golden Reel Grand Final on Saturday, 28th September. This year’s final features a strong field which includes previous Golden Reel champions. It also features former England internationals and anglers with lots of big-money final experience.

The Golden Reel 2024 Grand Final Venue

The Golden Reel Grand Final will take place at Larford Lakes in Worcestershire. The final will take place on Larford’s Specimen Lake (Speci Lake).

Larford Lakes is known for its excellent fishing and has become a prominent venue for competitive anglers. The Speci Lake is home to some extremely large carp, as well as plenty of bream and roach.

The Golden Reel Grand Final Format

26 anglers will compete in the Golden Reel Grand Final on Saturday, 28th September at Larford Lakes in Worcestershire. The match will take place over five hours. The match will start at noon and end at 5 pm. The angler with the largest weight at the end of the final will be crowned the 2024 Golden Reel champion.

The Golden Reel Grand Final uses the Golden Reel and Larford Lakes fishery rules.

The draw for The Golden Reel Grand Final will occur on the morning of the final (Saturday, 28th September).

The Golden Reel 2024 Grand Final Prize Fund

The Golden Reel offers substantial prizes, making it one of the richest and most prestigious individual events in UK match angling. The first prize for this year’s final is £30,000.

The total prize fund for The Golden Reel Final is based on ticket sales for the 24 qualification matches. The winner of this year’s Grand Final will receive £30,000. The total prize pool and breakdown for other positions will likely be announced closer to the event date.

The Golden Reel 2024 Grand Final Spectator Information

  • Tickets: Spectators are welcome to watch the final at Larford Lakes and there is no fee to attend. Larford boasts a large car park.
