Tony Coates Qualifies for Golden Reel Final from Hallcroft

Former The Golden Reel winner Tony Coates has secured his place in another Grand Final. The 2020 champion booked his place in this year’s final after winning today’s qualifier at Hallcroft Fishery in Retford.

On a warm and sticky day, Coates secured the win by mugging carp on the surface and catching shallow on the pole. He won with an impressive weight of 218lb 7oz from preg 5 on Bridge. Second place went to Paul Wright with 200lb 1oz from peg 12 on Bridge Island. Rob Burgin finished in third place with 160lb 9oz from peg 2 on Croft.

Congratulations to Tony Coates who becomes the latest angler to qualify for the big-money final at Larford Lakes on 28th September. The full list of Golden Reel 24 finalists is below:

The next Golden Reel qualifier takes place at Marston Fields in Birmingham on Sunday, 28th July. Tickets for the match are still available from the Golden Reel website: GoldenReelAngling.co.uk. Tickets cost £50.
