On Saturday, 30th May 2026, Moorlands Farm hosted the latest FishOMania qualifier, where Andy Bennett secured his place in this year’s Grand Final with a commanding victory at the Staffordshire venue.
The former two-time FishOMania champion is no stranger to qualifying for the sport’s biggest event, and he once again booked his ticket to Westwood Lakes from the same venue where he earned qualification in 2025.
Drawn on peg 8 in the bowl on Meadow Pool, Andy weighed 165lb 5oz to top the standings. On a warm, sunny and windless day, he spent much of the match mugging carp on the long pole with maggots before enjoying a productive spell down the margins on casters during the closing stages.
Andrew Mann continued his impressive run of form by finishing runner-up for the second FishOMania qualifier in succession. Drawn on peg 3 on Meadow Pool, he also relied on mugging and margin tactics to build a catch of 128lb 3oz. Third place went to Kerry Kirkwood, who weighed 123lb 9oz from peg 3 on Moors Pool to complete the top three.

Few anglers possess a FishOMania record to rival Andy Bennett’s. A two-time champion and one of the most respected competitors on the commercial circuit, he has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to deliver when qualification is on the line. His latest success ensures another major name will be present at Westwood Lakes in July, adding even more quality to a Grand Final field already packed with former champions, finalists and big-match specialists.
While Bennett took the qualification place, Andrew Mann’s second consecutive runner-up finish will undoubtedly be one of the talking points from the day. Having narrowly missed out at Makin’s Fishery just a week earlier, he again came frustratingly close to securing a Grand Final berth.
