May Potter, one of the best-known names in UK match fishing, has announced that she is parting with MAP. The news came via her Facebook page earlier this week, as she revealed that her final day with her tackle sponsor was Monday, 21st October.
In the post, May thanked the company for its backing over the previous six years. She also expressed how much she had enjoyed being part of “one of the biggest brands in the fishing industry.”
Given May Potter’s prominence in the fishing world, it was obvious that she wouldn’t be without a tackle sponsor for long. Speculation around which brand would be next has grown since Monday, and the news came a short while ago as both May and Middy posted updates on their social accounts.
May’s announcement came first with a short reel showing her posing in her new Middy gear.
Middy followed shortly after with an official announcement that May Potter would become one of the company’s “main consultants”.
The move marks a busy year of change for Middy and their new sponsored angler, May Potter. Middy has been working hard over the past 12 months to re-establish itself as one of the premier fishing brands following the change in ownership last year. The launch has seen products such as the hard pole case and four-wheel trolley come to market. There have also been several big-name sponsorship deals for Steve Barraclough, Dale Shepherd, Ryan Laycock and Brad Parkes.
This year has also seen May Potter leave her former bait sponsor Dynamite Baits, as she took on a new role working as the Social Media manager for Aquastim.
We wish both May Potter and Middy success in their new partnership.
