Mitch Ross became the 15th angler to book his place in the 2025 Maver Match This Grand Final after a commanding win at The Glebe on Wednesday.
Drawn on peg 22 on Pool 1, Mitch delivered a superb performance to top the latest qualifier with a weight of 248lb 8oz. The result saw him finish clear of a strong field and secure his spot in September’s final at Hayfield Lakes.
The Glebe complex is well known for producing big weights and competitive matches, but Mitch’s catch proved untouchable on the day. His methodical approach and strong swim management saw him edge out a number of in-form challengers.
He now joins a quality line-up that includes the likes of Andy Power, Jamie Hughes, and Ryan Lidgard. With just a few qualifiers remaining, the race to join them in the final is nearing its climax.
