Wednesday, 4th June saw the Maver Match This qualifier series head north to Messingham Sands Fishery in North Lincolnshire. With momentum building in this year’s qualifier campaign, another stacked field of hopefuls battled it out across three of the venue’s lakes. In the end, it was Andy Harrison who took the top spot by just over 5lb.
After a favrouable draw on Swan peg 57, Andy assembled a consistent net of carp to edge out the chasing pack. His final weight of 190lb 9oz proving enough to lead the chasing pack. Second place on the day went to Sam Brown, who also drew on Swan Pond at peg 35. He pushed hard with a quality 185lb 2oz catch, just a single decent fish behind the winner. Completing the top three was Tom Scholley on peg 51, who recorded a strong 169lb 6oz.
