The second Maver Match This qualifier of the year was held yesterday at Tunnel Barn Farm in Warwick. Reigning Fish North Champion and new Maver-sponsored angler Lee Thornton took the victory, winning by over 7lb.
Lee won the match from peg 3 on Extension, with an impressive weight of 147lb 12oz. According to his match report on Facebook, he caught 123 fish in total by fishing meat short on three or four lines all day. Sam Slocket finished second with 140lb 7oz from peg 19 on New Pool. Chris Lane finished third from peg 7 on Extension with 138lb 3oz.
Congratulations to Lee Thornton, the second name in the hat for September’s final and the chance to fish for the Maver Match This title and a large cheque.
