Rob Swan has become the 21st angler to qualify for the 2025 Maver Match This Grand Final after a dominant display at Westwood Lakes on Saturday, 2nd August. Competing on Skylark Lake, he put together a powerful edge-fishing performance to secure the win and book his spot in September’s big-money showdown.
Drawn on peg 26, a noted area two-thirds down the lake with the wind blowing into it, Rob made the most of the conditions. Fishing short in the margins with 6mm fishery pellets and an 8mm in the band, he built his weight in brilliant spells throughout the day. Using size 16 Guru SMWG hooks for extra strength, his aggressive approach paid off with a winning total of 227lb 1oz, comfortably enough to top the field and claim the all-important qualifying spot.
