Saturday’s Maver Match This qualifier at The Glebe saw a familiar name rise to the top. Reigning champion Jamie Hughes secured his place in this year’s Grand Final. With the pressure on and a stacked field in attendance, Jamie did exactly what was needed to keep his title defence alive
He drew peg 85 on Pool 5 and fished a controlled match. The Matrix star caught 261lb 14oz of carp to book his return to Hayfield Lakes. He’ll now get another shot at the £50,000 title he won last year. This result also completes a major milestone. Jamie has now qualified for all three of match fishing’s biggest finals in 2025.
