Wednesday, 5th June saw the 12th FishOMania qualifier of the year take place at Partridge Lakes in Warrington. In a busy midweek event held across Covey 1 to 6, Spey, Willow and Piper Lakes, it was Guru-backed Charlie Law who took the honours, securing his return to the Grand Final..

Despite drawing an area he initially doubted, Charlie delivered a superb display to fend off 2006 Fisho Champion Neil Machin and book his spot in July’s Grand Final. He finished the match with 140lb 9oz from peg 67 on Covey 3. He began with a few early fish short on meat, but the bulk of his catch came from across on castors, fishing on the deck. His steady approach saw him catch 86 fish in total.

Second place went to Neil Machin with 129lb 4oz from peg 75 on Covey 3. Andy Brooke came third with 123lb 5oz from peg 83 on Covey 4.

The next FishOMania qualifier will take place at Monk Lakes Fishery in Marden on Saturday, 7th June. This year’s FishOMania Grand Final takes place on Saturday, 19th July, at Westwood Lakes in Boston.
