Today saw anglers compete in qualifier number 10 of this year’s FishOMania campaign at Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot. Daniel Squire continued his strong run of recent qualifying form with a commanding performance to earn his place in the 2025 FishOMania Grand Final.

Drawn on peg 115 on Syndicate Lake, the Somerset-based angler put together 111lb 14oz of carp to secure top spot at the midweek qualifier. Fishing a pellet waggler for most of the day and picking up two bonus fish shallow on the pole, Dan’s calculated approach proved too much for the rest of the field.

It marks Squire’s third FishOMania qualification and comes just weeks after he booked a place in the Golden Reel Grand Final at The Glebe, capping off a memorable month for the experienced matchman.

Second place went to Luke Sheriff on peg 116, next door to the winner, with 74lb 11oz. Luke also caught mostly on the pellet waggler. Over on Gold Lake, Mikey Williams took third from peg 14 with 58lb 13oz. Fourth place went to Stefan Pal on peg 121 with 48lb 2oz, and Andrew Palmer rounded out the top five from peg 75 with 47lb 4oz.

This latest qualifier attracted a strong turnout from across the south, with the challenging conditions and clear water making it a tactical battle throughout.

Congratulations to Daniel Squire on today’s victory. With his place in both the FishOMania and Golden Reel finals now secured, all eyes will be on Dan as the big-money summer events draw closer.

The next FishOMania qualifier will take place at Lindholme Lakes in Doncaster on Saturday, 31st May. This year’s FishOMania Grand Final takes place on Saturday, 19th July, at Westwood Lakes in Boston.
