The Golden Reel qualifier at Larford Lakes on Wednesday, 20th August produced another high-quality contest, with Billy Egglestone securing his place in this year’s Grand Final. Fishing from peg 14 on Match Grass, he edged out the rest of the field to confirm his spot in this year’s grand final.
Fishing from peg 14, Billy weighed in with a massive 346lb 7oz to take the win. His catch included 4 F1s and six carp caught short at six metres, with the bulk of his weight coming from a top kit plus one down the edge.
Runner-up was Chris Lane, who recorded 227lb 15oz from peg 12 on Match Grass. Just behind, Dean Lock finished third with 224lb 7oz from peg 13. On Speci Burr, Lee Riley secured fourth place from peg 14 with 169lb 7oz, while Jake Prescott took fifth with 152lb 14oz from peg 10. Dean and Jake both booked a place in the semi-final.
