The last two Maver Match This qualifiers produced two more names for the 2025 Grand Final, bringing the line-up to a close. On Sunday, 17th August at Hallcroft Fishery, Taylor Weir booked his place, before Dale Shepherd secured the very last ticket at Hayfield Lakes on Monday, 18th August.
At Hallcroft, Taylor Weir drew peg 2 on Moat Outer and went on to record a superb 250lb 14oz, more than enough to take top spot and the penultimate berth in this year’s showpiece.
Just a day later, Dale Shepherd joined him. Drawn on peg 20 at Dannie’s Island, he weighed in 224lb 9oz to claim victory at Hayfield and the last qualification place of the 2025 campaign.
That means the full field of 25 anglers is now confirmed, featuring a mix of previous champions, seasoned finalists and exciting debutants. All will be competing for one of the sport’s richest prizes when the action unfolds at Larford Lakes on Saturday, 6th September.
