With only three FishOMania qualifiers remaining, few chances remain to secure a place in this year’s FishOMania grand final. Yesterday, Daiwa UK’s Product Development Manager Pemb Wrighting beat the competition at Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot to book his place at Westwook Lakes in July.
Wrighting took local advice on the best tactics to secure the victory with a weight of 130lb 8oz of carp from peg 46 Gold Lake. He fished 6mm banded pellets to catch carp up to 14lb as he swapped between fishing shallow and mugging carp cruising on the surface. This qualifier win secures Pemb Wrighting’s first FishOMania final in 10 years.
Robert Taylor finished second from peg 134 on the Syndicate Lake with 102lb 4oz. Kurtis Tranter finished in third place with 99lb 14oz on peg 109 of the same lake.

Pemb Wrighting becomes the latest confirmed competitor and will fish for his chance to win £50,000 and the FishOMania crown at Westwood Lakes in July. The full list of FishOMania 24 finalists is below:
