The eigth Maver Match This qualifier of the year was held at Makins Fishery in Nuneaton yesterday. Andy Power took the victory to secure his place in September’s Grand Final.
Andy won the match from peg 9 on Reptile Lake with 217lb 5oz, comfortably clear of the rest of the field. He made the most of a good draw to catch shallow and down the edge. According to the report from the Sonubaits Facebook page, he caught well early in the match fishing shallow, before switching to a short line. His bait of choice being maggots, pellets and Sonubaits‘ Power Scopex groundbait.

Perhaps even more impressively, this latest result means Andy has now qualified for all four major UK finals in 2025: Maver Match This, FishOMania, Golden Reel, and Feeder Masters.
