Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse are set to return with a festive special of Gone Christmas Fishing in 2024. In this year’s special, the beloved duo will travel to southwest France to fish the picturesque River Lot.

The hour-long episode will showcase the comedians’ attempts to catch new species, including black bass, vandoise, and grass carp. Their base for this adventure will be the Moulin de Toulzanie. A grand old mill situated right on the river’s edge.

This marks the fourth Christmas instalment of Gone Christmas Fishing and the second to be filmed outside the UK, following their 2022 special in Norway. Adding to the intrigue, a special guest is set to make an appearance, though their identity remains a secret.

As for the beloved canine companion Ted, viewers will need to tune in to see if he manages to make the journey to France.  With its signature mix of friendship, philosophy, and fishing escapades, Gone Christmas Fishing 2024 is set to be a highlight of the 2024 holiday television lineup.

After another year of wonderful fishing adventures in the UK, Paul and Bob decide to cast their net a little further afield for this end-of-year special. They visit south west France to fish the River Lot, with some new species in their sights, including black bass, vandoise and grass carp.

Their overnight accommodation is the Moulin de Toulzanie, a grand old mill perched right on the edge of the river. Paul tries to concentrate on the fishing but Bob, as ever, wants to reminisce and chat about their past year together.

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Christmas Fishing 2024 airs on Tuesday, 24th December at 9:15 pm. If you can’t watch it then, a repeat will air on Friday, 27th December at 0:50 am and it will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

  1. I am an 82yr old motorcycle rider I love Mortimer and Whitehouse, it is not the riding that although I enjoy. Its not the fact that as a group of 4 people, we ride all over Britain, and the continent. But the comradeship that we have., and the chat , plus the well being it gives us. Just like Mortimer and Whitehouse, it’s the memories and the joy of each others company.and the fishing is just one tier of their time together.long live the program, long live the support they give each other, just as our little group does .
