Andy Bennett has announced his departure from Blakes Baits after a seven-year tenure as a consultant. The angler reflected on his journey with the company, which began when Blakes was relatively unknown in the match fishing world.

Bennett’s initial scepticism was overcome by Paul Holland’s assurances of the bait’s quality and the opportunity to create a bespoke range under the Commercial Masters banner. Over the years, Bennett helped to significantly develop Blakes Baits into one of the market’s leading bait companies.

I can honestly say I’m extremely proud of what we have created and the company has now grown into one of the best bait companies on the market, and keeps on growing.

The parting is amicable, with Bennett expressing gratitude for the support he received and pride in the company’s growth. He wished the Blakes team continued success, praising their roster of talented anglers.

As for his future, Andy Bennett will join Mainline Match on the 1st of February 2025. The move aligns with his main tackle sponsor, Guru. The partnership allows for a more focused collaboration, with Bennett able to develop new groundbaits and other products for both brands.

Bennett anticipates the transition will lead to more productive filming and product testing sessions. He expressed enthusiasm about his new role and the potential to elevate the Mainline Match brand.

As you know Guru don’t do things by halves and Mainline have the exact same mentality. I now have an amazing opportunity to try and push both brands, whilst singing off the same hymn sheet.
