The Drennan England Feeder team has announced its squad for the 2025 Feeder Fishing World Championships. Team manager, Dean Barlow has selected a strong squad of experienced anglers, with only one new addition joining the team.

Former World Champion and reigning European Gold medalist Steve Ringer will captain the team. International regulars Will Freeman, Lee Kerry, Adam Wakelin, and Rob Wootton have also made the team. Tom Noton, known for his river and feeder fishing expertise, makes his debut with the senior team.

The 14th Feeder Fishing World Championship will take place in Lithuania on the 14th and 15th of June. The venue for this year’s event is the River Skirvyte, a large waterway bordering Russia and the Baltic Sea. The river ranges from 100m to 400m in width and reaches depths of up to eight metres. It hosts a variety of fish species including roach, bream, wild carp, vimba, perch, catfish, salmon, pike, and zander.

Dean Barlow commented on the challenging nature of the venue:

This is a big, fast-flowing river and will require a heavy duty approach to crack it with big feeders upwards of 200g, over 7oz, needed to hold bottom – it’s a fearsome venue.

This will be the first feeder World Champs that Lithuania has hosted, and they have a strong, up-and-coming team which will be difficult to beat on their home water. But we’re not going over the to fish for second place.

The team will face competition from other nations, including reigning champions Ireland. Assistant Managers Graham West and Mac Stephens will support Barlow, with Scott Smith serving as bait manager.

The journey to the event involves a drive to northern Germany followed by a 19-hour ferry crossing to Lithuania. The Angling Trust continues to support the team, with Drennan International providing sponsorship.

Steve Fitzpatrick, Angling Trust Head of Competitions, expressed gratitude for Drennan’s support and wished the team well for the upcoming championship.
