The Best Match and Coarse Fishing YouTube Channels in 2024

- Article Continues Below Ad -

When I became interested in fishing again around four years ago, I was surprised by the number of fishing YouTube channels available. The first time I searched for fishing content, I thought I’d struggle to find many videos to watch and that any I did discover would be poorly produced.

To my surprise, I found hundreds of well-edited videos covering every aspect of match and coarse fishing. Long-form match videos are filmed from multiple camera angles. Detailed product reviews of everything from expensive poles down to smaller items such as feeders and floats. Tutorials with easy-to-follow steps on a wide range of topics, such as tying pole rigs and long-distance casting. Channels with tens of thousands of active subscribers and friendly comment sections.

Whichever form of fishing you enjoy, there are many fishing YouTube channels to enjoy. Regardless of whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned match angler, YouTube has a channel for you.

Below, you will find, in no particular order, 10 of the best match and coarse fishing YouTube channels to subscribe to in 2024. The list is made up of channels that we watch regularly and deliberately excludes channels for tackle and bait manufacturers. If you think we’ve missed one, let us know in the comments below.

Best Match and Coarse Fishing YouTube Channels

Winning Ways

It was an easy choice for the first channel to appear on our list. Winning Ways is a match-focused YouTube channel featuring two of the UK’s best commercial anglers, Jamie Hughes and Andy May, and is filled with friendly banter and humour. The videos are produced in an extremely professional manner by Richard Chapman.

Winning Ways content includes in-depth tutorials and amusing challenge matches. Winning Ways channel membership can be purchased for a monthly fee and also includes long-form live match videos, monthly live streams, and tutorials from other guest anglers.

The channel has expanded to include Winning Ways Extra and Winning Ways Basics. The Extra channel provides a regular podcast covering a range of interesting fishing topics. The Basics channel offers tutorial guide videos on everything from which catapult to use to swim management.

BagUp TV

BagUp TV is another match-fishing-focused YouTube channel featuring David Wood. Videos are uploaded regularly and include well-edited footage from big open matches and qualifiers filmed from different angles. Each video normally includes footage from the journey to the venue, drawing a peg, setting up, fishing the match, and a roundup of the day’s events. The channel also includes a semi-regular podcast-style video and updates on new bits of tackle and baits that David uses.

Channel membership is available to purchase on YouTube, featuring Members Only catch-ups and behind-the-scenes information.

FishOn TV UK

FishOn TV is, in many ways, similar to the previous entry on the list, BagUp TV. Featuring Alan Norrish fishing a wide variety of big opens along with smaller club run matches. The open matches are often from the same events that David Wood fishes, so you’ll often see the pair having amusing chats before and after the match.

Videos are generally around 30-45 minutes in length and are edited to a high standard. Each video consists of drawing a peg, details of how Alan intends to fish the match, footage from the match, and a catch-up at the end.

First Time Fishing

First Time Fishing is a channel that I have watched grow from relatively small beginnings three years ago to its larger, more professional, and large-scale format today. The channel started with tackle reviews and guides from the channel’s creator, Big Bird. With well over 5,000 subscribers, First Time Fishing has expanded to include fun challenge matches, more in-depth reviews with footage from the bank of products in use, comparison videos, and interviews with other anglers.

The channel has a low-priced membership option for £0.99/month, which is used to purchase new items of tackle to review and then giveaway to channel members during live videos.

Catch Fishing Channel

The Catch Fishing YouTube channel is run by England International feeder angler, Jamie Hughes. The channel is more serious in tone than the ones mentioned above but is filled with in-depth details about how Jamie approaches each session. Videos vary in length from shorter instructional videos to longer full-match films, which are all edited superbly.

In addition to the main Catch Fishing Channel, Jamie also runs the Catch Fishing Vlogs channel. Videos on Catch Fishing Vlogs are generally shorter, with less editing, and provide more behind-the-scenes style content.

The Catch Fishing Channel also offers a generous membership option for £1.99/month, which includes early video access, match downloads, and members-only live chats.

Adam’s Fishing Adventures

Adam’s Fishing Adventures is a vlog-style channel that follows the channel’s creator’s fishing trips. Videos are generally shorter in length than most of the channels listed previously, but they provide a wide range of different fishing methods. The videos are well edited to tell the story of each session.

Being shorter in length, Adam’s videos are easy to watch when you only have a few minutes spare. Subjects cover everything from fishing for barbel on rivers to challenges and instructional videos.

Paul’s Tackle Reviews

Paul’s Tackle Reviews provides non-biassed reviews of various items of tackle that Paul has used on the bank. The thing that sets Paul’s reviews apart from many other channels is the amount of detail that he covers. He’ll provide comparisons to other similar products that he has used and include details such as weights, dimensions, examples of use, and much more.

The channel has also expanded to include similarly in-depth tutorials on everything from preparing micro pellets for different uses to a six-part series on paste fishing.

Match Fishing Films

Match Fishing Films is a channel created by Joe Carass. Joe was previously involved in producing videos for Preston Innovations and now works for NuFish as their media guy. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the video production of the videos on Match Fishing Films is so high.

Videos are generally centred around match fishing, with live match films and tactical videos showing how to approach different fishing methods and get the most out of various baits.

Kayleigh Dowd Fishing

Primarily focused on match fishing, match preparation, and instruction guides, Kayleigh Down Fishing is a great channel to pick up some tips and tricks. Kayleigh is a former 2x Ladies National Champion, 2x Ladies FishOMania Champion, and is currently an England international for both the coarse and carp teams.

Kayleigh’s videos are generally shorter-form live match fishing videos, with over-dubbed commentary explaining the different tactics and choices made during the session. The channel also includes several instructional videos and vlogs covering everything from fisheries being stocked to behind-the-scenes footage from international fishing competitions.

Jon Arthur Angling

Last but not least, Jon Arthur Angling. Ran by the respected match angler, qualified fishing coach, and former fishing magazine editor, Jon Arthur himself. The channel features everything from long-format match films, tips and instructional guides, and pleasure sessions. Unlike many of the previous channels that primarily focused on commercial fishing, Jon’s videos include every type of venue using multiple techniques. From frozen lakes to flooded rivers, Jon will fish everywhere.

Videos are normally filmed using several Go Pro’s to provide different angles and are produced to high standards to give you an idea of how each session went. In addition to the regular videos, Jon also offers channel membership for £2.99/month, including full-length session videos and shorter behind-the-scenes features.

There are, of course, plenty of other match and coarse fishing YouTube channels out there that didn’t get a mention. If you feel passionate about a channel and want us to check it out for future editorials, drop a link in the comments below.

We hope you check out some of the channels above and give them a subscribe if you like the content that they produce.
