Partridge Lakes was the stage for a big day of national competition on Saturday, 5th July. The Angling Trust hosted both the Women’s National Championship and Anglers with Disabilities National. A total of 60 anglers lined the banks across Covey, Marsh, and Ribbon lakes. For the women’s field, there was also the small matter of a FishOMania Grand Final place on offer.
Sarah Challinor Takes Women’s National Crown
After five hours of action, it was Sarah Challinor who came out on top. She drew peg 99 on Covey 4 and put together a brilliant 98lb 13oz of carp on the pole. That weight was enough to take the title and book her place in the 2025 FishOMania Final. It’s a venue she knows well, having already won matches at Westwood Lakes in festival competition.

Just behind Sarah was Matrix-sponsored Emily Mather, who ran Sarah close with 96lb 3oz from Covey 3 peg 62. Samantha Sim, the reigning Ladies World Champion, took third place with 63lb 7oz from Covey 1 peg 6.
Just behind Sarah was Emily Mather, who finished second with 96lb 3oz from peg 62 on Covey 3. A few fish either way could have swung the result. In third place was Samantha Sim, the reigning Ladies World Champion, who caught 63lb 7oz from peg 6 on Covey 1.
Livesey Claims Disability National Gold
Over on Ribbon Lake, it was Thomas Livesey who topped the Anglers with Disabilities National. He landed 86lb 14oz from peg 6, fending off a strong challenge from Ethan Etherington, who weighed 70lb 11oz on Marsh Lake to take silver. Jonathan Andrews completed the podium with 57lb 3oz from peg 20 on Ribbon.
Congratulations to all six medallists, and thanks to Partridge Lakes for once again providing a top-class venue for two important fixtures in the national calendar.
