The Shimano Aero Ledger Cup final took place at Lindholme Lakes on Tuesday, November 5th. This competition is exclusively for bomb and feeder fishing and has gained popularity over the past three years. This year, the competition expanded to include four qualifiers held in September and October at Lindholme, Makins, Hallcroft, and Barston to allow for more anglers to compete in the final.
This year’s victory went to Craig Tidswell, who won from peg 17 on Loco. He won the match by a fair margin in the end. He finished the final with approx. 115lb (exact weight wasn’t specified) to take the trophy and a cheque for £5,000. Second place and a cheque for £2,500 went to Vic Molyneux with 86lb. Steve Brindley secured third and £1,250 with 80lb from peg 3 on Loco.
According to “Tidsy” on his Facebook page, he knew he had a good chance when he pulled in-form peg 17 on Loco from the draw bag. He fished the match at around 50 metres all day using a hybrid feeder filled with fishery micros and Bait-Tech Strawberry and Cream Critical wafters on the hook. Despite a few quiet spells where bites were hard to come by, he’s had a busy day to take the victory.
The remaining framers were Steve Twigg who finished fifth place from peg 3 on Benny’s winning £320. Fourth went to George Robinson who won £420 from peg 79 on Bonsai. The section winners can be seen below.
