Team England Masters Feeder is preparing for the 2025 FIPs-ed Masters Feeder World Championships. This year’s competition will take place on 11th and 12th April on the River Jύcar near Riola. A venue renowned for hosting international competitions, including the Iberian Masters.
The English squad, captained by the legendary Tommy Pickering, boasts a formidable lineup. Alongside Pickering, the team includes former world champion Simon Fry, Darren Cox, Eddie Bridon, and Richie Hull. The management team consists of Nigel Franks and assistant manager Mark Morris. 2025 FIPs-ed Masters Feeder World Championships Preparation
The River Jύcar presents a unique challenge for competitors. The venue is home to a diverse array of fish. Species include carp, crucian carp, and bleak, with occasional catches of mullet, catfish, and black bass. This variety promises an exciting and unpredictable competition for the anglers.
Team England’s preparation is thorough and strategic. They plan to arrive in Spain three weeks before the championships. They’ll make the journey from the Port of Dover and drive through France and Spain to their accommodation in Cullera. Upon arrival, all nine squad members will participate in the Iberian Masters at the same venue. Thus providing a valuable opportunity to familiarise themselves with the local conditions.

Despite being formed only three years ago in 2022, Team England Masters Feeder has already achieved remarkable success on the world stage. Their accolades include team silver medals in 2023 and 2024, an individual silver medal for Tommy Pickering in 2022, and Simon Fry’s World Champion Gold in 2023. They also narrowly missed a team medal at the 2024 European Feeder Cup, finishing just one point short over the three-day event.
To support their journey and efforts, the team is seeking donations and organising popular lotto bonus ball raffles. Supporters of coarse angling and Team England are encouraged to participate and contribute to the team’s continued success on the international stage.
As the championships approach, all eyes will be on Team England Masters Feeder as they aim to bring home gold from Spain and further cement their reputation in the world of competitive angling.
Good luck to Tommy and the team in Spain!
