Yesterday saw the 9th Maver Match This qualifier was held at Partridge Lakes in Warrington. The match saw 59 anglers compete across Coveys 1 to 6 for the opportunity to fish in this year’s Grand Final. In an extremely close match, only 10oz separated the top two.
Fishing from peg 128 on Covey 5, Jack Williams claimed a razor-tight victory with 124lb 14oz, narrowly finishing ahead of second-placed Jamie Cowling with 124lb 4oz, who pushed him all the way from peg 15. The win earns Jack the ninth golden ticket of the campaign and secures his place in one of the biggest finals on the match fishing calendar.
The event produced a string of top weights despite testing conditions. Jordan Holloway took third with 117lb 2oz from peg 65, while Jamie Hughes continued his consistent form to finish fourth with 109lb from peg 42.

The next Maver Match This qualifier was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 24th May at Float Fish Farm in Peterborough. Unfortunately, the match has been cancelled due to low oxygen levels at the venue. Ticket holders will receive details with options to transfer or request a refund. The next qualifier will now occur on Monday, 26th May at Hayfield Lakes in Doncaster.
