Yesterday, the fourth qualifier of this year’s Maver Match This campaign was held at Partridge Lakes in Warrington. In total, 75 anglers were competing for a spot in this year’s final across Coveys 1- 6. The victory went to Les Marshall, who secured the win by just over 8lb.
Les won the match from peg 73 on Covey 3 with a superb weight of 147lb 10oz. Second place went to Dave Brown Jr. with 139lb 1oz from peg 105 on Cover 5. Only ounces separated Gary Ainscough and Brad Lucas in third and fourth place. Gary did enough to secure third with 123lb 11oz from peg 80 on Covey 4, whilst Brad finished with 123lb 5oz from peg 6 on Covey 1.
Congratulations to Les Marshall, the fourth angler in the hat for September’s final and the chance to fish for the Maver Match This title and a large cheque.
