Earlier this year Gary Rodgers announced the inaugural Edge Master Competition. The one-off match is an interesting new addition to the match calendar and is the brainchild of Nick Speed. The competition sees anglers fish in a three-hour match from 3 pm until 6 pm, with a 10-minute pre-baiting period. Anglers are only allowed to fish a maximum of one metre from the bank — hence the Edge Master name.
Today, the Edge Master Competition was fished on Bridge Outer, Croft, Reed and Bridge Island at Hallcroft Fishery. In total, 43 anglers fished the match, but Steven Reid came out on top spot with a weight of 95lb 14oz from peg 56 on Bridge Outer. He beat second-placed Steve Barraclough by just 3oz, finishing with 95lb 11oz from peg 2 on Croft. Third place went to Sam Kelk with 90lb from peg 3 on Bridge Island.
Congratulations to all the framers. You can watch a video of the match presentation from the On the Flyer TV Facebook page.
You can see the full results table on the Hot Fishin website.
Gary also confirmed that the 2025 Edge Masters Competition has already been booked for 2nd July at Hallcroft. If anyone would like to book for the match, you can message him directly on Facebook. Based on feedback from anglers, next year’s match will be increased from three to four hours.
