Phil Briscoe has announced via the The Golden Reel Facebook page, that this weekend’s qualifier at Meadowlands has been cancelled. The unfortunate update is due to the low number of tickets sold by Monday, 17th June.

The Golden Reel qualifier was due to occur on Saturday, 22nd June, with a maximum number of 80 pegs. As revealed by Phil, by Monday only 11 have been sold. Any of the anglers who have purchased tickets for the qualifier at Meadowlands will receive a full refund in the coming days. A new venue and date will be announced in the future.

The next Golden Reel qualifier will now be held at Hallcroft Fishery in Retford on Saturday, 29th June. Tickets for the match are still available from the Golden Reel website: GoldenReelAngling.co.uk. Tickets cost £50.
