Last weekend saw Maver Match This qualifiers occur on Saturday and Sunday. Ashley Blunt secured qualification on Saturday from Rookery Waters, and he will be joined in the final by Lee Thornton who won Sunday’s qualifier at Hayfield Lakes.
Lee secured his place in this year’s Match This final with a victory from peg 51 on Adam’s Lake. He won with a total of 193lb 5oz, to book his return to Hayfield Lakes for the Grand Final in September. The Merseyside-angler did well to secure the win from a peg which nobody would have fancied at the start of the day.
