Partridge Lakes Fishery hosted the 16th FishOMania 2026 qualifier earlier today. Harry Michael secured his place in this year’s Grand Final with an outstanding performance at the Cheshire venue.
Having reached the 2025 FishOMania Grand Final after recording the highest weight across the 2025 Junior and Youth National Championships, Harry will return to Westwood Lakes this summer after earning qualification the traditional way by winning a qualifier outright.
Drawn on peg 28 on Piper Pool, Harry produced a superb display to finish comfortably clear of the field. His winning catch of 193lb 6oz consisted of carp and F1s and left him almost 50lb ahead of his nearest challenger. Speaking after the match, Harry revealed he kept things simple throughout the day. He started by fishing short with green expanders before switching to a shallow approach for the majority of the session, a tactic that proved highly effective as the day progressed.
I’ve ended up with 193lbs which has won the match by 50lbs and got me back into the final. A few people said to me it’s been the biggest weight from the venue this year so quite happy with that.
Andy North finished in second place with 144lb 2oz from peg 105 on Covey Canal Lake 5. Jack Danby completed the top three with 93lb 9oz from peg 10 on Willow Pool.
Harry’s qualification continues the rise of one of the sport’s most promising young anglers. Still early in his senior career, he has already gained valuable experience on FishOMania’s biggest stage and will arrive at Westwood Lakes with growing confidence following such a convincing victory.
Partridge Lakes has a long history of producing memorable FishOMania qualifiers, and Harry’s performance ranks among the most impressive seen at the venue in recent seasons. Winning by such a significant margin against a strong field underlined just how well he dialled into the shallow approach throughout the day.

Fresh from another successful qualifier at Partridge Lakes, the FishOMania circuit moves on to Drennan Lindholme Leisure Lakes on Saturday, 6th June 2026. With the Grand Final field continuing to take shape, another place at Westwood Lakes will soon be up for grabs.
