On Saturday, 18th April 2026, the FishOMania campaign continued at Old Hough Fishery, where Jamie Hughes produced another dominant display to secure his place in this year’s Grand Final.
Despite drawing on the less fancied Moses pool, Jamie showed exactly why he remains one of the sport’s most consistent performers. Fishing a mugging approach throughout the match, he built a superb 136lb 13oz net of carp to take a clear and convincing victory.
His nearest challengers came from different areas of the venue. Ben Handley secured second place with 99lb 7oz from Prospect 1, while Ben Townsend took third with 96lb 3oz from Lucky Dip 14. Both anglers put together strong weights, but neither could match Jamie’s relentless pace. Further down the frame, Andy May finished fourth with 89lb 6oz, followed by Wayne Kearney with 85lb 1oz and Adam Martin on 84lb 3oz, highlighting the depth of quality across the field.

This result continues a remarkable run for Jamie Hughes, who has now qualified for an incredible 15 consecutive FishOMania Grand Finals. It is a level of consistency rarely seen in match fishing, especially in a format as competitive and unpredictable as FishOMania qualifiers. Already a three-time champion, his latest win once again puts him firmly in contention for a record-extending fourth title when the final takes place later this summer.
The Old Hough match formed part of a busy double header weekend in the FishOMania calendar, with another qualifier following on Sunday. Attention now shifts quickly to the next midweek opportunity, as the competition heads to Tunnel Barn Farm on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, where 100 pegs will be in play.
With places in the Grand Final filling up, every remaining qualifier becomes increasingly important for those still chasing qualification.
