The 17th FishOMania 2025 qualifier took place on Wednesday, 25th June at Hallcroft Fishery. Sheffield angler Steve Forster secured his place in this year’s £50,000 Grand Final with a superb weight from Reed Pool. He topped a tight leaderboard with over 257lb, but the result came down to just one fish.
Drawn on peg 28 on Reed, Steve caught shallow on the long pole and mugged cruising carp to 14lb. His final weight of 257lb 9oz was just enough to claim the win. Taylor Weir ran him incredibly close from Moat Island 40, weighing 251lb 11oz. Taylor also caught shallow and added several big carp late from the margins. Luke Stafford took third with 151lb 2oz from Moat Island 43, followed by a close scrap for fourth and fifth on the Croft section.
