Last week, England International and popular match angler May Potter announced that her six-year sponsorship with MAP had ended. A few days later, it was revealed that she had found a new home with Middy. She has already been put to work with her new sponsor to promote the company’s new winter suit.
The change in tackle sponsor marks a year of change for May, who earlier this year switched bait sponsor, as she took on a new role as the Social Media manager for Aquastim.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that May’s Middy announcement post on Facebook included several hashtags for her sponsors. One obvious commission was Aquastim. I wondered at the time if that had some hidden meaning. That thought became more intriguing when Aquatim posted recently that it is hiring a new Media Assistant. A little more digging revealed that Aquastim posts no longer use May’s email address and have switched to a generic sales email address.
My curiosity was answered on Friday when May Potter and Capital Catch Competitions revealed that she has joined Capital Angling. May had this to say about her new position:

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Capital Angling, they run a physical tackle and bait shop in Sheffield. The company also has a growing online presence which includes an online store, a YouTube channel, and the popular raffle sites Capital Catch Competitions and Capital Carp Competitions.
