The tenth FishOMania qualifier of 2024 was held today at Weston Pools Fishery in Oswestry, Shropshire. Congratulations go to Jamie Hughes, who will hope to extend his record by adding his name to the FishOMania winners list for a fourth time.
Few things are inevitable, but Jamie Hughes competing in the FishOMania final is one of them. The only surprising thing about Hughes’ qualification is that it took him so long. The three-time FishOMania champion won today’s qualifier with a weight of 176lb from peg 2 on Jacks. Many tipped Hughes to do well when the draw was made because he had a spare peg next to him. Fortunately for the Wirral-based angler, their predictions turned out to be correct.
After winning today’s qualifier, it marks the 14th consecutive appearance for Jamie Hughes in a FishOMania final. Congratulations on an incredible achievement.
Hughes becomes the latest confirmed competitor in this year’s FishOMania final. He will be joined by last year’s winner, Matt Dawes, and previous qualifiers Jason Redgrave, Chris Reilly, Adam Playford, Harry Campbell, Gary Ainscough, Alex Dawson, Andy Bennett, James Woodfine, and Kieran Marsden.
