Reigning FishOMania champion Brad Lucas has confirmed his consultancy role with Matrix has come to an end after three years with the brand.
Brad, who became the youngest ever FishOMania Grand Final winner at just 20 years old, shared the news via social media. He thanked Matrix and Craig Butterfield in particular for their support during what he described as an incredible period in his career.

Importantly, Brad made it clear that the move does not signal an immediate switch to another headline tackle sponsor.
“And this isn’t the normal, and now I’m off to so and so to tell you they’re the best… etc, etc. In fact, I’ll still be using Matrix tackle, because I’ve found what I like and where to use it in my fishing, so why change something that works?”
That statement suggests he will, for now, operate without a formal tackle deal while continuing to use products he trusts on the bank.

The announcement follows another move in January, when Brad left Matrix sister company Sonubaits to join Blakes Baits. Taken together, the changes point towards a reshaping of his commercial partnerships.
