Angler Bio

May Potter is a prominent figure in UK match fishing, known for her technical prowess and dedication to the sport. Based in North Leeds, West Yorkshire, May began fishing at the age of 4, quickly developing a passion that led her to competitive angling by age 6.

Her early success included a second-place finish in the Browning Youth Masters Qualifier and winning Top Female in the final at The Glebe and Mallory Park Fisheries. She has been part of several junior teams, including Leeds Juniors and Wakefield Juniors, gaining valuable experience across commercial and natural venues.

May’s talent and consistency led to sponsorship with Browning, allowing her to represent the brand at team events across Europe. After a short break from competitive angling, she returned with renewed drive and was selected for the England Ladies squad, competing at the World Championships in Serbia in 2023.

In 2025, she became co-owner of MP Events (formally On The Flyer TV), where she contributes to filming, media, and the wider angling calendar, helping to grow the visibility of women in fishing.
