Brad Lucas is a young match angler rapidly rising through the ranks of UK competition fishing. Backed by Matrix and Sonubaits, Brad has become one of the most consistent and exciting names on the circuit.
He’s taken notable wins at venues such as White Acres, Lindholme Lakes, and Redhill Fishery, including victory at the inaugural OTFTV Festival in Wales. His sharp, tactical style and all-round ability have seen him qualify for the FishOMania Grand Final, as well as reach the finals of both Maver Match This and Golden Reel, a rare achievement at any level. Brad’s standout season in 2024 was recognised nationally, finishing third overall in the Angling Times Match Angler of the Year rankings.
Brad Lucas became the youngest-ever FishOMania champion on Saturday, 19th July 2025, after narrowly beating veteran Steve Openshaw at Westwood Lakes. The Yorkshire angler took home the £50,000 prize after a tense final hour.
As a consultant for Matrix and Sonubaits, Brad also offers coaching and continues to inspire with his professionalism and performances on the big stage.
