The 13th Feeder Fishing World Championship begins tomorrow on the Guadiana River in Merida, Spain. The Drennan-sponsored England Feeder team go into the event ranked number one in the world and is one of the favourites to be amongst the medals.
The team heads into day one of the World Championships following a strong showing at the recently held Merida Masters at the same venue. The three-day event in early April saw three members of Team England finish in the top 10. Will Freeman finished in third position, Lee Kerry came in sixth, and
During the past five days of training sessions at the venue, every one of the six England team members has been vying for a spot in the starting team of five for the first day of the championships. The challenging task of selecting that lineup falls to team manager Dean Barlow, who has now announced the following selection:
- Adam Wakelin
- Will Freeman
- Lee Kerry
- Steve Ringer
- Rob Wootton
Mick Vials is the unfortunate angler to miss out on day one, but will still play an important role with the remaining backroom staff.

Come on England. Let’s hope they can bring home the gold!
