Popular YouTube channel First Time Fishing has announced that they have teamed up with hand-made float maker Gortini to produce the new FTF1 pole float. The new float is designed specifically for F1-style fishing to highlight the shy, sensitive, and fast bites that many anglers find so annoying.
The Gortini FTF1 has been produced following months of extensive testing at F1-heavy venues such as Tunnel Barn Farm by the First Time Fishing team of Big Bird, Darren Curtis, and Grant Merrett. The result is the “ultimate weapon” for F1 pole fishing, and “one of the finest and best F1 pole floats available”.
The FTF1 pole float features half-hollow tips for improved sensitivity and a carefully shaped chianti-style body for optimal performance. Additionally, the float’s main body has a unique ‘mud-coloured sugar coating,’ which helps it blend into the water and stay inconspicuous to fish. They are supplied with a super durable carbon stem and will be available in 01, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.45g.

First Time Fishing creator, Big Bird, had this to say about the motivation behind the Gortini FTF1.
At First Time Fishing, we aim to provide anglers with firsthand information to save time on testing new tackle. Team First Time Fishing competes in many National Matches across the country, and like any angler, we look for an edge. We’re fortunate to work with top manufacturers to create tackle that meets the needs of anglers. This float is no exception. For those who fish for F1’s regularly, this float offers the confidence, durability, and performance needed for efficient fishing. We’re very pleased with the outcome.
The Gotini FTF1 is due to release in a month or so, but if you’d like the chance to win a set before they are available to buy, check out the video below:
