Welcome to BaitingTheSwim.co.uk. We’ve been hard at work designing the website layout and adding content to the site for the past couple of weeks. We hope you like it.
Baiting The Swim is 100% focused on the world of match and coarse fishing. Our mission is to bring you the latest coarse fishing news, honest and unbiased tackle reviews, regular updates from our fishing trips, and interesting editorials.
Regardless of whether you’re new to the world of angling or a seasoned match angler, we hope you find our website a friendly and informative place to visit. We aim to build a community of like-minded people where we can all share our stories and offer advice and tips about one of England’s most popular sports.
What is Baiting The Swim?
The Baiting The Swim team consists of two friends who met when we were four years old in primary school. Brian and I both shared a love for football and fishing, so when we weren’t getting into mischief together, we were kicking a ball around or talking about our latest fishing adventures.
Both of our dads fished but didn’t fish together, and as we were too young to go fishing together on our own, we’d make up for it by “playing” fishing in my bedroom with two pool cues instead of rods and using shoe boxes in place of our trusty plastic Shakespeare fishing box.
30+ years later, we’re still friends and we’re still obsessed with fishing. Most importantly, we’re big enough to go fishing together unsupervised. When we’re not fishing together at the weekend, we’re planning our next trips, figuring out tactics and baits, or spending too much money in tackle shops.
Why Did You Build a Website?
BaitingTheSwim.co.uk was formed as an idea after my girlfriend noticed that I had more pictures of Brian and myself holding than I did of her and the kids. With a need to store pictures online, I decided to start a blog covering our fishing adventures. If you’re interested to know what we’ve been up to recently, you can check out our On the Bank fishing blogs.
The site started with a plan to write about our fishing trips and quickly grew to include opinion pieces and tackle reviews. As I was adding more content to the site, I noticed that coarse fishing doesn’t have a dedicated place outside of social media to quickly catch up on the latest news in one place. Before I knew it, I was also adding fishing news including new product launches, match fishing news, and industry updates.
What’s Next?
We have lots of ideas for content that we can bring to the site and social media in the future. If you like what you’ve seen so far, you can favourite the site, and follow us on Google News, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
We hope you find the content on Baiting The Swim interesting, and come back regularly. If you have ideas for how we can improve or want to suggest a news story or topic for us to cover, send us a message on our Contact Us page.
Cheers,
Baiting The Swim
