The Tackle Guru Facebook page has revealed details of some new tackle that will be arriving in stockist on Friday, 29th June. The new products include two new Fusion Rod holdalls and a new range of natural pole floats. The post didn’t give much more info, promising that more details will follow in the future.

Fortunately for us, however, it is possible to find details of the new products online. Below is a breakdown of the features, specs and price of Guru’s June 2024 product launch.

Guru Fusion Rod 6+ Holdall

The first of the new Fusion rod holdalls will retail at £149.99. The spacious holdall is designed to fit six or more made-up rods in a “spacious, yet compact holdall.” The holdall features a top and tail design providing enough space to fit rods with large pit reels if required.

The Fusion 6+ Rod Holdall have been designed to carry plenty of ready-made rod set ups in a spacious, yet compact holdall. Utilising a space saving ‘top & tail’ design allows you to store multiple rod and reel set ups in one holdall.

Each holdall has compartmented sections (3 on the 6+) with individual padded dividers in each section to provide ultimate protection to your rod and reels. Along with two external pockets, purposely designed to store items such as landing net handles, accessory arms, distance sticks, bait umbrellas, etc. The space between these two pockets perfectly supports a large umbrella which is designed to slot into the pouch at the base of the bag and then trapped in place with the carry handle.

The Fusion 6+ Holdall feature bespoke black and orange Guru zip pullers and heavy-duty zips, for improved longevity and performance. As well as a detachable padded shoulder strap, that can be positioned to suit your required strap length. Finishing off with a padded carry handle that can be wrapped around the front of the holdall for enhanced security and stability.

Guru Fusion Rod 10+ Holdall

If you need even more space for your rods, the Fusion Rod 10+ Holdall might be for you. It features five separate compartments for storing made-up rods and will retail for £179.99.

Guru Natural Pole Floats

The new range of Guru Natural Pole Floats offers five new float designs that will cover a variety of natural fishing scenarios. From deep water fishing for larger fish to delicate floats using small baits such as bloodworm and joker. All five designs will retail for £2.75 each. You can find the full details below.

Guru Ligger Carbon Pole Floats

The Guru Ligger Carbon Pole Float will be available in 0.5g, 0.75g, 1g, 1.5g, 2g, 2.5g, 3g and 4g.

The Guru Ligger Carbon Pole Floats feature a much rounder body profile. This gives the float ultimate stability and allow it to be easily controlled in flowing water conditions, perfect for use on rivers.

The body shape means that the float can be held static or held-back against flow to achieve a certain kind of presentation in moving water, slowing the bait down without the body of the float riding up out of the water. Because of the rounder body shape of this pattern, if the line passed around the outside of the body the abrupt angle it can cause line damage, especially when moving the float up or down. To overcome this, these floats feature an in-line system with a small piece of silicone running through the float, eliminating line damage completely.

This carbon stem version is better suited to fast fishing situations where reduced tangles are priority when quickly shipping in and out, or when you’re looking to catch fish on the drop allowing the float to ‘follow’ the shot down as it falls through the water. The carbon itself is thin for ultimate performance, cutting through the water cleanly so you don’t get any annoying hold-ups in surface skim on calm days.

Guru Ligger Wire Pole Floats

The Guru Ligger Wire Pole Float will be available in 0.5g, 0.75g, 1g, 1.5g, 2g, 2.5g, 3g and 4g.

The wire stem versions of the float are suited to situations when stability is priority, allowing you to hold a bait super stable and static even in rough and windy conditions.

Guru Skimmer Carbon Pole Floats

The Guru Skimmer Carbon Pole Float will be available in 0.5g, 0.75g, 1g, 1.5g, 2g, 2.5g, 3g and 4g.

This pattern is a true all-rounder for natural venues, ideal for stillwaters and canals, or slow-moving rivers. The body shape is an elongated rugby ball, offering superb stability and a great shape body to offer low resistance to a taking fish and when striking it out of the water. The Hi-Viz fibreglass bristles and the stem diameters increase as the size of floats increase from 0.5g all the way up to 4g, so everything is in proportion and balanced as you step up in size.

The fibreglass tips are easy to see and also translucent, making them visible in all light conditions, with the glass being highly sensitive to identify bites from all sizes of fish in different situations. Guru Speed Carbon Pole Floats

The Guru Speed Carbon Pole Float will be available in 0.2g, 0.4g, 0.6g, 0.8g and 1g.

The Speed is a pattern designed for catching large numbers of fish, a stable pattern that sets and settles very quickly, enabling a bite to be seen as soon as the bait settles, perfect for use with a bulked-down style positive rig. The fast-setting nature of this float comes from the fact that it is a body-down design, with the body tapered in a teardrop shape with the bottom of the body rounder for stability and the top part of the body tapering up smoothly to the bristle.

This shape also means the float is perfect for lowering down into the water when using baits like bloodworm or bread punch and strikes incredibly cleanly from the water. The fibreglass tips are highly sensitive, but unlike on many silverfish style floats, Guru have introduced a slightly thicker tip so they are clearly visible, especially on the smaller sizes that are likely to be used in tough light conditions on small canals and drains.

The carbon version are ideal for quicker fishing to reduce tangles.

Guru Slim Pencil Pole Floats

The Guru Slim Pencil Pole Float will be available in 0.3g, 0.5g, 0.75g, 1g, 1.5g, 2g, 2.5g and 3g.

The slim and long body shape to this pattern makes it perfect for catching lots of fish very quickly in all kinds of situations. Ideal for use on a whip or in all depths on a pole, the benefit of this float is its super-fast-setting nature with the long balsa body very difficult to tangle and flick over or wrap up.

Due to the super slim profile, the float cleanly enters and also leaves the water on a strike, offering very minimal resistance to a fish taking the bait. In the lighter sizes, this pattern is great for use on a whip or short-line tactics for small fish like bleak.

The bristle on this pattern is fibreglass for easy shotting and great visibility, again slightly thicker than on many previous silverfish style floats that are difficult to see in poor light.

Guru Slim Maggot Pole Floats

The Guru Slim Maggot Pole Float will be available in 0.15g, 0.25g, 0.35g and 0.5g.

A really popular shape and style of float that has loads of uses, especially for fishing on the drop and through the water with baits like maggots, casters, squatts, pinkies and hemp. The bristle on this float is probably its biggest edge against all others, as it features a pure cane tip. When fishing ‘through the water’ and ‘on the drop’, cane offers amazing presentation and bait support, and can be very easily shotted , especially when dotting a float right down to a pimple.

When fishing in the upper layers it also supports baits suspended off the bottom very well, a superb float for fishing casters in the upper layers of the water. The slim body combined with a thin carbon stem is perfect for fishing on the drop, with the float smoothly following the shot and rig down through the water, also offering very little resistance to a taking fish and providing a clean strike out of the water.

The versatility of this pattern really is endless, and while it is perfect for use on canals and rivers with slow falling rigs, its equally at home when loose feeding casters or maggots on commercials for silvers, and even for fishing natural baits for F1s too.

Will you be looking to add any of the Gur Fusion Holdalls or natural pole floats to your collection next week?
