Guru is inviting the next generation of match anglers to make history this summer, as entries open for the very first ‘Celebration of Young Anglers’. Taking place across several venues on Thursday 31st July 2025, the event aims to unite young anglers at fisheries across England for a day of fun, friendly competition and expert guidance. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or already competing regularly, the day promises something for everyone.
A Nationwide Day for Young Anglers
The Celebration is designed to get as many young people as possible enjoying fishing on the same day. A grassroots movement to showcase the future of angling and get juniors on the bank in their hundreds.
There are two age categories:
- Under 14s
- Under 20s (on the day of the event)
Each is split into Beginner and Advanced ability groups:
- Beginners: For those who need help setting up and fishing. This category is perfect for newcomers or those with limited experience.
- Advanced: For young anglers who can fish a full match without assistance.
Our overall aim is simple: to get young anglers fishing together, all over the country, at the same time. It’s about making memories, building confidence, and celebrating the future of our sport,” said a Guru spokesperson.
